Through the power and working of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), Alliance Community Church purposes to engage local, regional, and international communities by being a testimony of the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples who in turn make disciples (Matthew 28:18), together maturing in the faith and knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13).
Really, these five qualitative values come out of the teaching from Genesis 1:26-28 and Genesis 2:7, 15 about the Gospel (relationship/representation), and Ephesians 2-3 about the Church. What is God doing (Eph. 2:11-18)? How is He doing it (Eph. 2:19-21)? Why is He doing it (Eph. 3:10-11)? This gives us a basis for redefining success. Along the same lines, 1 Peter 2:5 gives basis for #1. Grace Testimony (#2) stems from Ephesians 3:10-11 where we are God’s expression of His manifold wisdom, an expression of transformed lives being lived out for the seen and unseen world to witness. The definite distinction in those who are living out of the depth of their relationship to Christ (#3) is out of Galatians 5. Gifts (#4) is the body dynamic of not placing importance on certain gifts or people, but these gifts are given for expression inside and outside the body (1 Corinthians 12). The idea of stewardship is all over Scripture. We use the terminology that God gives us everything (James 1:17), some to enjoy ourselves, some to share, and some to give away.
