For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6
Here are our upcoming gatherings...
Thursday, 12/5 @ 10am - 11am: Ugly Mugs Men's Group
The men will gather to encourage one another toward a deeper walk with Christ. Brothers, isolation is not good for your soul. So put your tools down and come hang out with the ugly mug guys for an hour.
Thursday, 12/5 @ 10am - 11am: Alliance Women
The ladies will gather to work on a missions-related project and enjoy fellowship together. Please consider bringing any solid color, cotton or cotton/polyester twin or full size sheets. They will be used to create bandages and supplies for a hospital in Bongolo. Also, if you have a sewing machine that is easily transportable, a couple of those would be helpful as well.
Sunday, 12/8 @ 9am - 9:45am: Koinonia (Fellowship)
Following the pattern of Acts 2:42, we'll gather in groups of three to share one thing for which we are thankful, one concern to pray for, and one sin to confess. These spiritual practices are vital to maintaining a healthy soul. This also helps build the kind of unity the early church experienced.
NOTE: A class for children (ages 4-10) is also available during this time.
Sunday, 12/8 @ 10am - 11:15am: Worship Service
This service will be live-streamed: www.youtube.com (ACC channel).
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility... - Ephesians 2:13-14
We'll gather to worship the Prince of Peace as He has united us to the Father and to one another through the Spirit. We'll welcome two new official members to the ACC family. The Boss family will dedicate their newborn daughter, Josephine. We'll also celebrate Bridgette Boss' public declaration of faith in Jesus as she enters the waters of baptism. Somewhere in the midst of all that, I'll highlight Paul's teaching in Ephesians 2:11-22. This passage shows us how the peace of Christ unites us as a family of believers.
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. - Ephesians 2:21-22
Tuesday, 12/10 @ 12pm - 6pm: PrayerWorks @ Electric Works
In lieu of our regular 1-hour prayer meeting, we'll provide prayer coverage for our city in six one-hour time slots.
NOTE: We are still in need of volunteers for the 3pm and 4pm timeslots. Please sign up at the back table Sunday morning if you can help.
"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” - Jeremiah 29:7
