Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Here are our upcoming gatherings...
Sunday, 3/26 @ 9am - 9:45am: Koinonia (Fellowship)
Following the pattern of Acts 2:42, we'll gather in groups of three to share one thing for which we are thankful, one concern to pray for, and one sin to confess.
Sunday, 3/26 @ 10am - 11:15am: Worship Service
This service will be live-streamed: www.youtube.com (ACC channel).
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. - Colossians 3:16
Historically, when the church gathers, we sing. It's not a performance, it's grateful worship. In addition to lifting your voice through music, you'll also have an opportunity to publicly quote any verses of scripture that you've written on your heart for the month of March. For the sermon, we'll take a look at Luke 18:18-30. This is the story of the rich man's interaction with Jesus, which results in a sad display of selfish pride. It may look like a harsh judgement, but is ultimately a call to surrender and follow Christ.
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! - Luke 18:22-24
Tuesday, 3/28 @ 11am - 12pm: Prayer Meeting
We'll pray following the ACTS method (Adoration of God, Confessing our sins, Thanksgiving to God, Supplications to God).
