What, Why, How

Mission

Make disciples by teaching believers to obey Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)

Purpose

Through the power and working of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), Alliance Community Church purposes to engage local, regional, and international communities by being a testimony of the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples who in turn make disciples (Matthew 28:18), together maturing in the faith and knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13).

Values

  • Making disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:18)
  • Pursuit of the Spirit–filled life for every believer (Ephesians 5:18)
  • Scripture as instrument of transformation (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • Lifestyle worship (Colossians 1:10, Ephesians 4:1)
  • Unity of relationship is foundation for any action (Ephesians 4:3-6, Colossians 3:14)

Redefining Success

As the body of Christ, we refuse to define success by worldly measures such as: increasing attendance, financial status, and the expansion of buildings. These can be false indicators of the spiritual health of a congregation. So instead, we will attempt to define success as the church by the following qualitative values among our people:
Picture
1.  Growing in Intimacy with God (John 10:14-15)
Relationship with Christ should result in an ever-deepening relationship with Him. Following the Good Shepherd will mean being able to recognize His voice in a world that is clamoring for your attention.

2.  Grace Story Telling (Ephesians 3:10-11)
Your grace testimony is born out of God’s expression of His manifold wisdom, an expression of a transformed life being lived out for the seen and unseen world to witness.

3.  Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)

The definite distinction in those who are living out of the depth of their relationship to Christ will be evidenced by the reality of the fruit of the Spirit.

4.  Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12)
Spiritual Gifts is the body dynamic of not placing importance on certain gifts or people, but these gifts are given for expression inside and outside the body.

5.  Stewardship of Life (James 1:17)
God gives us everything. Some of what He gives is meant for us to enjoy ourselves, some is to be shared, and some is to be given away.
